西村画廊では、2012年2月21日（火）から4月7日（土）まで、国内外の作家によるドローイング展 “ON PAPER 2012” を開催致します。あわせて、別室では国内外の作家の小品を幅広く集めて展示致します。

海外作家では、アントニオ・セギ、ジェレミー・ムーン、デイヴィッド・ホックニー、バリー・フラナガン、ボイル・ファミリー、ポール・デイビス、ルシアン・フロイドといった、当画廊が開廊当初より紹介してきた作家のドローイングと小品を展示致します。

国内作家では、押江千衣子、小林孝亘、指田菜穂子、曽谷朝絵、舟越桂、町田久美、三沢厚彦の新作ドローイングを展示致します。
押江千衣子は今回、これまで描くことのなかった豆の木や葉を題材にした作品を数点発表します。
小林孝亘は、現在グループ展「呼びとめられたものの光」（～2月19日、名古屋ボストン美術館）に出品中。1月14 日から2月12日までは「DOMANI・明日」（国立新美術館）に参加します。今展では、緑深い森のひっそりとした川を流れるボートを描いた “Song” や、森の中で発光する小さな人物を描いたどこか神秘的な作品 “Moon” など、これまでの作風とはまたひと味違った印象の作品数点を展示します。
指田菜穂子は、作年、当画廊での初めての個展を開催、好評の内に幕を閉じました。今回は「日本文学」を題材にした作品など2点を展示予定です。
曽谷朝絵は、当画廊で個展、おぶせミュージアムで個展、横浜市民ギャラリーのグループ展に参加、と作年は大活躍の一年でした。今展では、横浜市民ギャラリーで発表した、展示室中の床や壁に光の波紋をイメージしたカッティングシートが張り巡らされ、それらの色が見る角度によって変化するインスタレーション「鳴る光」を平面に表した作品を数点展示します。
舟越桂は、高知県の香美市立美術館とロンドンのアネリー・ジュダ・ファイン・アートでの個展、グループ展「MOTコレクション 木の時間、石の時間」（～1月15日、東京都現代美術館）と「抱きしめたい！-近代日本の木彫展」 （～1月15日、広島県立美術館)が終わったばかりで、今年は「陶芸の魅力xアートのドキドキ」（3月3日～7月6日、滋賀県立陶芸の森）に参加、秋には近畿・東海地方では初となる個展を愛知県小牧市のメナード美術館で開催予定です。今回は、前述のロンドンの個展で発表した新作彫刻「深い森」をイメージした、荒々しいストロークの中にも作家独特の繊細さが宿る、新しい傾向の作品を数点発表します。
町田久美は、作年はノルウェイのHa° gamle prestegard （フ・ガムレ・プラステゴー）で個展を開催、今年夏頃には当画廊でも約１年半ぶりの新作展を予定しています。加えて、初の作品集も近々青幻舎から刊行予定と、今後もますますの活躍が期待されます。今展では新作2点を発表します。
三沢厚彦は、作年の金津創作の森での個展に引き続き、現在は米子市美術館で個展を開催中（～2月12日)、またグループ展「抱きしめたい！-近代日本の木彫展」 （広島県立美術館）に出品をしていました。今年は、「珍獣？ 霊獣？ 象が来た！（仮）」（4月21日～6月10日、長崎歴史文化博物館）に参加、また当画廊での約5年ぶりとなる個展を開催予定です。今展では、パンダを描いた作品など数点出品します。

Nishimura Gallery is pleased to present “ON PAPER” by Japanese and foreign artists from February 21th to April 7th. In addition, we shows some small works by Japanese and foreign artists.

This exhibition shows some drawings and small works by foreign artists we have held a lot of exhibitions and introduced continuously from the foundation of the gallery such as Antonio SEGUI, Jeremy MOON, David HOCKNEY, Barry FLANAGAN, Boyle FAMILY, Paul DAVIS, Lucian FREUD.

We show new drawings by Chieko Oshie, Takanobu Kobayashi, Sashida Nahoko, Asae Soya, Katsura Funakoshi, Kumi Machida and Atsuhiko Misawa.
Chieko Oshie shows some drawings of tree of bean in this exhibition.
Takanobu Kobayashi is participating “CATCH THE LIGHT” Nagoya/Boston Museum of Fine Arts and “DOMANI : The Art of Tomorrow Exhibition” The National Art Center, Tokyo. He shows new drawings of the impression different before.
Sashida Nahoko was held first solo exhibition at Nishimura Gallery last year. She shows two drawings about “Japanese literature”.
Asae Soya was held solo exhibition at Nishimura Gallery and at Nakajima Chinami Gallery・Obuse Museum, Nagano and participated in a group exhibition at Yokohama Civic Art Gallery, Kanagawa. She shows series of “Ringing Light”.
Funakoshi Katsura was held solo exhibition at Kami City Art Museum, Kochi and Annely Juda Fine Art, London. He is participating “MOT COLLECTION” Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo and “I wanna hold you! Modern Japanese Wood Sculpture: 19th century” Hiroshima Prefectural Art Museum. He will hold solo exhibition at MENARD ART MUSEUM, Aichi. He shows drawings of “The Tale of the Deep Forest”.
Kumi Machida’s solo exhibition was held at Ha°gamle prestegard, Norway last summer and will be held at Nishimura Gallery next March. In addition, a book of her paintings will be published by Seigensha next spring. This exhibition shows her new drawings.
Atsuhiko Misawa’s solo exhibition was held at Kanaz Forest of Creation, Fukui and is holding at Yonago City Museum of Art, Tottori. He is participating “I wanna hold you! Modern Japanese Wood Sculpture: 19th century” Hiroshima Prefectural Art Museum.
This year he will participate “Elephant Art Exhibition” at Nagasaki Museum of History and Culture and his solo exhibition will be held at Nishimura Gallery next year. He shows some drawings of panda　this exhibition.
