西村画廊では、7 月5 日（金）より8 月3 日（土）まで、押江千衣子、曽谷朝絵、町田久美を中心に、小林孝亘、舟越桂、三沢厚彦らによるグループ展 “Summer Show2013” を開催いたします。

押江千衣子は今年、『水彩画 みずゑの魅力―明治から現代まで―』（4 月20 日～ 6 月16 日、平塚市美術館）に参加、同展のために制作した、自身の庭がモチーフの200 x490 cm の大作「家庭」を発表し大変好評を博しました。現在は、『オオハラコンテンポラリー』（4 月20 日～ 7 月7 日、大原美術館）に、2008 年のARKO（同美術館のアーティスト・イン・レジデンス・プログラム）の際に滞在制作した「こだま」（2008、大原美術館蔵）が出品されています。
今展では、イタリアのドロミテ山塊を描いた「山のあなた」（2007）等を出品します。

曽谷朝絵は今夏、代表作から最新作までが一堂に会する回顧的な個展『宙色（そらいろ）』（7 月27 日～ 10 月27 日、水戸芸術館）の開催を控えています。この個展で初めて挑戦する映像のインスタレーションでは、色彩豊かなアニメーションを空中に浮かぶ鏡の球体に投影することで展示室全体に反射させ、鑑賞者が色彩の森の中を遊泳するような空間を創り出します。別室では、このアニメーションの原画も展示されます。
今展では、光によって多様な表情を見せる水の波紋が印象的な“Corner”（2003）をはじめ、初期の作品を中心に展示します。

町田久美は、この6 月に終了したばかりの当画廊での個展で、これまでとは違う展開を見せる新作を多数発表し大きな評判を呼びました。
現在は、『オオハラコンテンポラリー』（同上）に「来客」（2006、 大原美術館蔵）、『アジアの女性アーティスト展1984-2012』（4 月13 日～6 月23 日、三重県立美術館）に「ことほぎ」（2008）、『Wonderful My Art 高橋コレクションの作家たち』（4 月14日～9 月16 日、河口湖美術館）に「郵便配達夫」（1999-2006）が出品されています。今展では、霧深い海辺の町を連想させる100 号の最新作「霧笛」（2010-13）を発表します。

小林孝亘は現在、『オオハラコンテンポラリー』（同上）に、どこか非現実的な静けさを感じさせる光の下で日光浴をする人を描いた「Sunbather 10」（2004、 大原美術館蔵）が出品されています。
今後は、9 月17 日より、当画廊での約3 年ぶりの個展を開催します（～10 月19 日）。
今展では、「Live Charcoal」(2011) 等これまであまり展示機会のなかった近作を中心に展示します。

舟越桂は、彫刻とドローイング、版画による個展がTABLOID GALLERYで開催されます（6 月25 日～ 7 月7 日）。また、「高橋コレクション展　マインドフルネス！」（7 月21 日～ 9 月1 日、霧島アートの森）に彫刻「遠い手のスフィンクス」（2006）等が展示されます。今展では、近作の彫刻とドローイングを数点発表します。

三沢厚彦は、6 月に求龍堂から作品集『ANIMALS 3』、7 月に青幻舎からドローイング集『Painting of ANIMALS』が刊行予定です。また、三重県立美術館（7 月13 日～ 9 月23 日）と浜松市美術館（10 月5 日～ 12 月1 日）での個展も控えています。現在は、『ET IN ARCADIA EGO 墓は語るか』（5 月20 日～ 8 月10 日、武蔵野美術大学美術館）に新作彫刻を展示中です。今展では、新旧の彫刻とドローイングを数点展示します。当画廊ならではの顔ぶれによるグループ展にどうぞご期待ください。

Nishimura Gallery is pleased to present “Summer Show 2013” from Friday July 5th to Saturday August 3rd, the group exhibition by the 6 artists; OSHIE Chieko, SOYA Asae, and MACHIDA Kumi as main, KOBAYASHI Takanobu, FUNAKOSHI Katsura, and MISAWA Atsuhiko.

OSHIE Chieko participated in the exhibition “watercolor, the attraction of Mizue ―from Meiji to the present―”(20th April -16th June, The Hiratsuka Museum of Art) in this year. She painted and showed a big piece “Katei”(200x490cm) for this exhibition, and developed a reputation. Now in the exhibition “Ohara Contemporary” (20th April -7th July, Ohara Museum of Art), she shows “Echo”(2008, collection of Ohara Museum of Art) which was painted during ARKO in 2008(Artist-in-Residence program by the museum).
In this exhibition, she shows some works including “Beyond the Mountain”(2007) that is painted the massif of Dolomite mountain.

SOYA Asae will hold the retrospective solo exhibition “sora iro”(27th July -27th Octorber, Art Tower Mito) showing both her representative works and new works together. In this solo exhibition, her first try of video installation creates the space that people feel like swimming in the forest, by projecting the colorful animation to spherical mirrors floating in the air and reflecting it to the exhibition room.
This exhibition shows mainly her early works commencing with “Corner” (2003), the impressive image of the expressive watering through the light.

MACHIDA Kumi showed some new works differing from ever, in the last solo exhibition by our gallery in June, and achieved popularity. Now “Visiter”(2006, collection of Ohara Museum of Art) is exhibited in “Ohara Contemporary”, and “Postman”(1999-2006) in “Wonderful My Collection －artists of Takahashi collection”(14 April -16 September, Kawaguchiko Museum of Art).
In this exhibition, she shows her latest work “Foghorns”(2010-2013), which reminds the foggy town on the sea.

KOBAYASHI Takanobu currently shows “Sunbather 10” in “Ohara Contemporary”, the image of a man lying in the unrealistic and calm sunlight.
For the future, the solo exhibition in our gallery for the first time in 3 years will be held from 17th September.
This exhibition mainly shows the recent works, which had little opportunity to be exhibited, including “Live Charcoal” (2011).

FUNAKOSHI Katsura holds his solo exhibition with sculptures, drawings, and engravings in TABLOID GALLERY(25th June － 7th July). Besides, his some works including “The Sphinx with Far Hand” (2006) will be exhibited “Takahashi Collection －Mindfulness!”(21th July -1st September, Kirishima Open-Air Museum).
This exhibition shows some recent sculptures and drawings.

MISAWA Atsuhiko will publish his collection book “ANIMALS 3”(Kyuryudo Art Publishing) in June, and “Painting of ANIMALS”(Seigensya Art Publishing) in July. Besides, he will hold his solo exhibition in Mie Prefectural Art Museum(13th July -23th September) and Hamamatsu Municipal Museum of Art(5th October -1st December). Now his latest sculpture is exhibited in “ET IN ARCADIA EGO” (20th May -10th August, Musashino Art University Museum).
This exhibition shows some old and new sculptures and drawings.
